Ultimate Fluid Cooling

Banks Ultimate Cooling Bundle brings three die-cast fluid cooling products into one package at a killer price. The cohesive system brings together decades of cooling technology into a unified system. The three work together to keep your truck's lubricants running at their optimal temperatures, extending the life of your engine, transmission, and differential.

Reject more heat, keep your lubricant from oxidation breakdown, and keep your truck running longer with the Banks Ultimate Cooling Bundle.

Banks CoolRunner Oil Pan, Technical Features

Engineered to cool motor oil

The Banks CoolRunner Oil Pan for the 2017-2019 Duramax out-performs and out-cools the competition by leveraging decades of racing and military engine development.

•19 deep-cut huge external radiator fins provide more surface area to the cool air moving under the truck.

•Die-cast process provides a smoother interior surface which improves oil flow to the pickup tube and drain.

•Smooth, streamlined area around the oil pickup with an anti-cavitation dimple improves oil flow to the pump by reducing restriction at the filter inlet.

•15 internal fins absorb more heat from the oil than a stock or any other aftermarket pan.

Banks proprietary FlowThru FinsTM maximize thermal energy transfer by lining up the internal and external features with each other.

Engine heat is efficiently drawn from the sump where the hottest oil rests. Cooler oil retains the proper viscosity, which means metal-on-metal surfaces remain properly lubricated.

With more internal heat absorption surface area and more external heat radiation surface area, your motor oil stays within its optimum operating temperature, which prevents oxidation or breakdown even when hauling up a grade.

Engineered to run cool

The Banks Ram-Air Transmission Pan for 2001-2019 Duramax trucks with Allison 1000 transmission outperforms and outcools the competition by leveraging decades of Ram-Air technology and thermal management expertise honed in racing and military engine development.

Banks Ram-Air Transmission Pan Air Scoops

Taking advantage of the fast-moving cool air under your truck, the Ram-Air Transmission Pan draws ambient air through the large forward-facing scoop, funneling it through the external heat radiation fins.

Unlike competitive designs where the metal of the pan hangs the lowest, the Ram-Air Transmission Pan is engineered so that the lowest point is only the sacrificial front scoop while still providing 2 additional quarts of fluid capacity.

The plastic scoop is also designed to break away without causing damage to your pan, just in case. If this happens to you, let us know and we will send a replacement Ram-Air scoop on the house.

•1/8" NPT port for easily adding a supplemental temperature sensor.

•24 deep-cut external radiator fins provide more exposed surface area to the cool air moving under the truck.

•Integrated support structure for internal filter acts as anti-slosh baffles for fluid in the pan.

•18 internal fins absorb more heat from the oil than a standard or all aftermarket pans.

•Die-cast process provides a smoother, less porous interior surface and improves fluid flow in the pan.

The Banks proprietary FlowThru FinsTM maximize thermal energy transfer by lining up the internal absorption and external radiator elements with each other.

Transmission fluid heat is efficiently drawn from the fluid, reducing stress on your Duramax's cooling and lubrication systems.

Banks vs Stock

When comparing aginst the stock L5P configuration there are two options, the Standard Pan and an optional Deep Pan which offers about 3 quarts of extra fluid capacity

While the additional fluid capacity does help in lowering temperatures initially, without aditional means to cool the fluid, it quickly becomes heat soaked with no means to rediate the aditional heat load.

Banks vs The Competition

What happens when the Ram-Air goes against the competition? While others claim to have massive cooling ability with their designs featuring fins that cross haphazardly across their surface with no concideration for fluid dynamics, the Banks Ram-Air still comes out on top in total internal and external fin area.

What all others lack though, is the forward facing Ram-Air scoop to help guide the air under your truck directly through its die-cast FlowThru FinsTM which further enhances heat transfer out of your fluid and away from your transmisison. No other pan is as well engineered.

Die-Cast vs Sandcast

All Banks lubrication cooling products are die-cast, not sand-cast like competitors. Made with far greater precision, a die-cast part is denser, smoother, and has virtually no porosity compared to the equivalent sand-cast part.

Sand-cast parts can even retain the sand they were molded with. (You don’t want sand in your oil). Finally, our long, thin cooling fins are only possible with a die-cast process. Although this process costs more, we think it's worth it.
