In 2011 the new GM HD platform had many upgrades, including to the steering system and related frame mounting provisions. However, pitman and idler arms are still in single shear mounting to the center link. Most steering issues are solved with the Cognito Pitman and Idler Arm Support Kit sku 110-90772 which puts the pitman and idler arms in double shear mounting to the center link, yet sometimes truck owners still wish or need to add a steering stabilizer. This Cognito Fox stabilizer kit is compatible with the Cognito Pitman and Idler Arm Support Kit.
2011-2014 model years, and most 2015 model years came with OEM provisions to add a steering stabilzer which requires 2 mounting points, one on the steering center link(right side of truck) and one on the frame (left side of truck). 2011 to present trucks all have the mounting provision on the steering center link, which is the tapered hole in the right side of the steering center link near the idler arm. Regarding the frame mounting provision, this is the clevis (2 tabs sticking out) welded to the frame crossmember, and only the 2011-2014 and some 2015 trucks have this to be able to add on a steering stabilizer. The included FOX stabilizer will not fit in the OEM frame positions on these older models mentioned, therefore the OEM clevis with tabs must be cut off as it interferes with the included bracket. 2016 to present models did not have this OEM celis with tabs welded to the frame.
On 2016 to present model years, this kit is a simple and complete bolt on, no cutting, no drilling, no welding.
